Personal Experience
Professor Basheka is the Founder and Managing Partner of BBA. Since its establishment in 2024, the firm promises to be a rapidly expanded entity whose vision is to strategically evolve from a sole office in Ntinda Uganda to the regional legal market for legal research and consultancy. From a one-lawyer firm, BBA strategically aspires be a large-sized firm with more than 30 lawyers dedicated to serve its expected and growing clientele nationwide and regionally.
BBAs’ practice areas have been carefully crafted to cover a wide range of clientele and nature of legal advisory services required in a dynamic business and corporate environment. The firm will strategically extend and grow its services to encompass many areas of law including corporate law, constitutional law and human rights, family law, estate planning and administration, construction law and project management, public international law, conveyancing, land transactions, dispute resolution legal research and advisory, among other areas.
As managing partner, Professor Basheka plays a pivotal role in the business development and strategic management of the firm. Under his digital transformation initiative, Professor Basheka leverages on his extensive experience in public sector management and business consultancy to solve business and legal challenges. He is also a firm believer that the firm’s greatest asset is its people. As its leader, he advocates people-building and leader-creating.
Professor Basheka is often sought to appear in numerous talks and events pertaining to Governance, Strategy Development, Public Sector Management, and contemporary legal issues. His audience ranges from professionals to laymen.

Professor Basheka has vast experience in handling contentious & non-contentious law disputes. He is well grounded in company formation, management, financing, and winding up. Through his multidisciplinary academic background, he is sharpened to look at legal problems from a variety of contexts to arrive at a convincingly acceptable solution. He has also advised numerous high net worth clients on estate planning & estate administration disputes. He is grounded in judicial review and employment as well as constitutional interpretation based on his extensive experience in Governance and public leadership. He is known to be able to provide advice that is bespoke and exclusive on what is best for each client because of his firm belief in justice for society. With in-depth experience in property management, investment and development, Professor Basheka understands all aspects of property transactions. Professor Basheka is the CEO and chairman of a Management Consulting company in Uganda. He has interacted with high levels of government stakeholders, development partners, academia, the private sector and Civil Society Organizations. In corporate affairs, he is well grounded in corporate governance, policy document design and board effectiveness. He has vast experience in advising companies on risk management strategies, merger & acquisition, joint ventures, employment issues & corporate governance. His business insight combined with his keen understanding of the law allows him to lead his team in advising public and private companies, and their portfolio companies in complex transactions.
In land transactions, as an investor and regular buyer of land, he is firmly schooled in the processes of land acquisition, subdivision, transfer, leaseholder management and formation of relevant agreements and contracts for each type of transaction. He is able to balance the transactions with a significant understanding of tax regulations to ensure land transaction compliance.
